The same message on screen can have very different causes. These are the satellite faults our engineers find most often.

Satellite signal dropping out?
Do not buy a new box or dish before the signal has been checked. A realignment or a small repair often solves the problem, and a photo of the dish taken safely from the ground helps us advise you.

Repair, Realign or Replace the Satellite Dish?
Not every reception problem needs a new dish. The right option depends on the condition of your existing system and what the signal test shows.

Choosing the Right Dish and LNB
UK satellite TV for Sky and Freesat comes from the Astra 2 satellites at 28.2 degrees east, so your dish needs a clear, unobstructed view towards the south-east. Trees, extensions and new buildings in that direction are a common cause of problems, and part of our job is finding the position that gives the strongest signal.

Sky by satellite
Sky Q uses a dish and LNB. We install, align and repair the dish, LNB and cabling. For subscription, account or box software issues, contact Sky directly.
Sky Glass and Sky Stream
These stream over broadband and do not need a dish. If you are switching, we can take down the old dish and mount your new TV.

What do satellite TV services include?

Why does my satellite TV say no signal?
The most common causes are a dish that has been knocked out of line, a failed LNB, water in a connector or a damaged cable. Occasionally it is a setting on the box. A signal test at the dish and at the receiver shows which it is.
Why does my satellite signal drop out in heavy rain?
Heavy rain and snow weaken the satellite signal. A correctly sized, accurately aligned dish has enough signal to spare, but a small or slightly misaligned dish may cut out. If the problem is new, or happens in light rain, the dish or connections need checking.
Can a satellite dish be realigned instead of replaced?
Yes, if the dish is secure and in good condition. Realigning it with a signal meter often restores full reception. A replacement is usually only needed if the dish is damaged, corroded or too small for your location.
Do I need a new LNB for Sky Q?
Often, yes. Sky Q boxes are designed to work with a wideband LNB, which many older dishes do not have. The engineer can check your current LNB and upgrade it if needed.
Can you install a satellite dish for Freesat?
Yes. We are approved Freesat installers and can fit a new dish or use your existing one if it is suitable. See our Freesat installation page for more.
Can you add satellite TV to another room?
Usually. An extra room needs its own feed from the dish, which may mean upgrading to a quad LNB or fitting a multiswitch, plus a new cable run to the room.
Can you move or remove an old satellite dish?
Yes. We can move a dish to a better or less visible position, or take down an old dish along with its bracket and cabling. When you book, ask whether taking the old parts away is included in your quote.
Do Sky Glass and Sky Stream need a satellite dish?
No. Sky Glass and Sky Stream deliver TV over your broadband connection. If you are switching from a dish, we can take the old dish down and mount your Sky Glass TV.
Can you install a dish for foreign language channels?
Often, yes. Channels from other countries usually come from a different satellite, so the dish may need a different position, a larger size or an extra LNB. We check what is achievable from your property first.
How long does satellite dish installation take?
Most straightforward installations are completed in one visit. The time depends on access, the dish position, the cable route and how many rooms or boxes need connecting.
Do you offer same-day satellite TV services?
Same-day visits are often possible, depending on your postcode, engineer availability and the work needed. Calling early in the day gives you the best chance.
Is there a call out charge?
